Kubrick's dark comedy stands as one of the most controversial film classics due to it's fetish-like subject matter. However, censors of the 60's stripped most of the erotic content from Nabokov's novel away and Kubrick was forced to make an elusive piece of art.
The subtlelty of his direction may be slow for some, but terrific performances by Mason, Sellers and Winters shine through.
Dig that funky score and those sexy sunglasses.
